Lost in Venice, Italy

20160325_063549

“Me, my friend Matt, and Nick all decided to break away from the group due to the fact we had 5 hours of free time. After wondering around for about a half hour, we stopped into a pub to grab a drink, and try that oh so famous Italian pizza. Unfortunately for all three of us, we we’re not feeling the best from all the travel the night before, so we could only eat half of our cheese pizzas, so we ended up getting another drink each. After we payed, we decided to just get as lost as we can, because Venice is only so big, and you can only walk so far on this small island. We ended up getting lost for hours, which led to me snapping some of the best pictures of my entire photography career. This is a photo of one of the many squares in Venice, from the balcony of one of the museums.”

“This is a picture of the front lobby of the first building I worked at. A lot of work went into finishing this building at the time, so I decided to snap this picture. This was just a few days after the airplane went missing from Malaysia, which is part of the reason why this picture has value to me, as it brings back a rush of memory’s from those few days.”

The Network Dream

photo

Hey guys, whats going on. My name is Josh, and im going to make this blog post about my particular dream with creating a network. For those of you who don’t know, I am the co-creator of the Kaned Productions YouTube channel, which is a gaming channel focused on providing a wide array of gaming content, including lots of indie games.

Although at this current moment in time, we have a long way to go before I can even begin transforming KP into more than just a gaming network, their has been non the less an underlying dream I have developed over the past 9 years of online life.

I am a very passionate musician, and create lots of my own music as well as being in a band called Entity Unknown, which leads me to the first phase of the dream which includes creating a music studio, designed for all types of indie artists. I hope that through creating a music studio at some point, that it could help boost the current pool of indie musicians into the spotlight and help them become more accepted in the music industry. obviously, this would have to be a long ways down the road, but none the less, it is defiantly apart of my dream.

I also love animation, and story creating (which is a helpful mix) even though I may not be the best at animation (yet) I plan on developing my ability to the fullest in hopes of creating an animation series, which has been one of the major dreams in my life. I hope to one day eventually turn KP into a producing company (hence the productions).

I also want to get involved with digital news. I believe that the issues facing the world today are extremely dire, and I also believe the best way to get the young people of today involved with the politics and social aspects of governance. I want to help inspire a generation of positive change in the world. The internet is the garden where we can finally plant the seeds of truth, so that we can create a hopeful environment for the future generations instead of allowing the current media corporations world wide to distract you from the real issues facing humanity, like wealth inequality, poverty, health care, climate change, and the abuse of human rights.

I want to be able to start a non-profit organization that supports helping those in need, while defending those who need hope. People who are in place as popular figures today are great people, but most do not realize that their influence could change lives forever. I want to inspire everyone to realize that we are all connected (by 5 degrees of separation) and that change happens when you are the one who stands for it.

So although it is not all of the things I want to accomplish, this is the current outline of some of the “Network Dream” that I have. I hope that this dream can one day become a reality, as the internet is a beautiful place to flourish.

Time Square, New York City

New York 2014 032

“I went to New York city back in 2014, and man was it an eye opener. Never before in my life have I been surrounded by nothing but millions of people, and a sea of massive sky scrapers. From the point of view of somebody who is from a very rural province, this place was extremely smelly. Every turn, you could either taste the exhaust of cars in the air, or you could smell the all to often whiff of sewage. It also put right in my face the fact that most people who live in cities like New York, and even smaller, are almost always surrounded in a light haziness. The place was nice and all, but it was all to noisy for me to get to sleep, so that was the biggest dislike I had towards New York. I had a beautiful time enjoying the culture, and New York experience! The tall buildings were cool, the statue of liberty was cool, and so was the many attractions we did! Overall, I see why people like to go to New York City, but its not the favorite place for somebody from a small place like me.”

Sun Halo Photo

“I’m often asked about how I took this picture when I show it to my peers. People tell me it looks like it was photo shopped, or edited in some sort. The truth is that this mystically epic photo was taken on a warm summers day while I was at work. What had started as a really hot and sunny day, turned into a really light and bright fog, which allowed a sun halo to form while we were outside. Me being me said ‘hey this might make a cool album picture one day’ so I took the photo with me standing under it. It was truly a beautiful phenomenon, and it was the first time I had ever seen and/or heard of it in my life, and it is now pictured forever in my mind, and in the internet (as I have made this one of my band (Entity Unknown) pictures.”

The Feeling of Freedom

2012-2014 243.JPG

“This photo was taken sometime in the summer of 2014, when I got the thing I had been waiting for, for most of my childhood. A Dirt bike. It wasn’t much really, just a 100cc Baha bike (garbage really), but that bike opened my world up in such an amazing way. I suddenly was able to tred throughout the landscape, in lightning time. I could meet up with people and go ride for hours before I ran out of gas, but most importantly, that feeling of being a child and wanting something for so long, and finally getting it. That was the best feeling of all, the feeling of childhood contentment. This is one of the first photos I snapped somewhere outside of Clark’s Beach, where my grandmother once owned a cabin. And believe me, the view was truly breathtaking.”

The Craziest Bonfire Ever

2012-2014 580.JPG

“This photo, I took about two or so years ago at a really cool bonfire in the summer. It started out as me and my friend, Jordan, walking to a party that was off of the road towards south lands in the woods. We started off by walking through about 10 minutes of brush and forest until we heard people, which we followed until we found ourselves in a open patch of woods, that had a bonfire started in the center, and a cool tree fort with tens of teenagers standing on it, doing things that teenagers do. The night started off pretty chill, and by sundown, their was about 100 people partying in this small patch of forest. It got to the point were they put a full tree into the bonfire, creating a 20ft flame! Me and my friend decided that the place was getting to ‘heat bag’ (meaning too attention getting) after they threw a can of spray paint into the fire, causing a massive explosion. This is when we realized we picked a good time to leave, because as me and Jordan were leaving, a guy was walking towards us with a flash light, so we jumped in the woods (causing me to loose my shoe) and hid until the lights went by. At first we thought it was a cop, but others texted us other wise. In the end I found my shoe and we made our way back home, just to find out that this guy had brought a gun to the party, over a spat he had with another girl! Definitely a crazy night that will be forever logged in my memory, and now blog!”
